The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced the results of the inspections of its employees in connection with two serious accidents that occurred in Sofia - one on September 25 of this year. on the ring road, in which one person died, and the other from July 5 of this year. on Cherni Vrah Blvd., where two young women died, the department announced.
For the first case, two policemen were dismissed due to serious violations of official discipline.
In relation to the second incident, two policemen will be punished with dismissal and another 38 will be disciplined.
In connection with the accident on Cherni Vrah Blvd., for which Georgi Semerdzhiev is the defendant, two employees of the 4th regional office - a department commander and a policeman from the Security Police sector - were punished with dismissal.
Simona Radeva, the police officer from the first district administration, who was questioned during the case as to whether she helped Semerdzhiev, was also dismissed earlier.
Simona Radeva's friend was also present at Semerdzhiev's arrest.
For violations of official discipline, 38 other police officers from the SDVR were subject to disciplinary punishments.
They are from different sectors of the "Road Police" department, as well as from the Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth and Seventh RU of the SDVR, writes BTA.
In relation to the accident on the Ring Road, for which Dimitar Ljubenov is accused, two employees of the Metropolitan Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were dismissed - a department commander and a senior police officer.
A French citizen died and two others were injured in the incident.
Lyubenov is currently in custody.
At the end of December, the prosecutor's office announced that several charges had been brought against the two police officers related to the crash.
They are charged with bribery, dereliction of duty and failure to render assistance in the accident.
