Amrapali Group Managing Director Anil Sharma is among the six people accused of killing a man in Bihar seven years ago.

CBI has registered a murder case against Anil Sharma, Managing Director of Amrapali Group.

Apart from Anil Sharma, the CBI has also registered a case against 6 other people.

Dr. Sharad Chandra, the then secretary of Balika Vidyapeeth in Lakhisarai, Bihar, was shot dead in August 2014 at his home on the campus while he was reading the newspaper.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) took over the investigation of the matter on the orders of the Patna High Court.


Earlier, the CBI had taken major action against Anil Kumar Sharma, director of Amrapali Smart City Developers.

The CBI had raided his house and premises in connection with an alleged bank fraud of over Rs 472 crore.

The CBI has allegedly booked a consortium of then Corporation Bank (now Union Bank of India), Oriental Bank of Commerce (now Punjab National Bank) and Union Bank of India against Amrapali directors - Anil Kumar Sharma, Shiv Priya and Ajay Kumar. An FIR has been lodged in the matter of causing loss of Rs 472.24 crore.

The agency has also registered a case against the company's auditor Amit Mittal.

Sharma, Shiv Priya and Kumar are in jail.
