The Russian occupiers in the Donetsk region are accumulating troops near the town of Vugledar, this direction may soon become a new hot spot on the front.

Military expert, reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Roman Svitan

told about this  on the air of the all-Ukrainian telethon broadcast by the TSN YouTube channel.

"

One of the main points, which will most likely be a pain point in the near future, is the Vugledar district, southwest of Donetsk

. Russian troops are accumulating there, dispersing in nearby villages. There is movement from near Mariupol. You can see movement from Rostov, Taganrog to Mariupol , and further in the direction of Donetsk, in the Volnovakha region, and dispersion in the villages," said Svitan.

According to him,

the occupiers, on the one hand, are preparing for an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine from under Vugledar on Volnovakha, and on the other hand, they are preparing their counterattack

, "to hinder this movement or try to get to Vugledar, then go up north to Kurakhovo, enter our Donetsk group in the rear with the strategic task of exiting to Kurakhove and further to Pokrovsk".

"Thus, one of the strategic directions of the Russian troops is to enter the rear of our entire Donetsk group from the side of the Dnipro, near Donetsk in the Pokrovsky district," the expert added.

We will remind you that the Bakhmut direction remains the "hottest" on the front, the city of Soledar has become a new target for the Russian army and the mercenaries of the "Wagner" PMC after months of unsuccessful attempts to take Bakhmut.

The occupiers attacked Soledar with large forces, entered the city, but the Armed Forces stopped their advance.

Colonel Serhiy Cherevaty

, the spokesman of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

, said that the "Wagner" PMC threw its best units into the assault on Soledar - veterans with combat experience in Syria, Libya and other hot spots.

Military expert, reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Roman Svitan

explained that the invaders, attacking Soledar, hope to bypass and surround Bakhmut.

"The movement to Soledar is an attempt to bypass from the north. Our Soledar group stopped them...

The goal of the Russians is to bypass Bakhmut, to try to cut off the Bakhmut-Kostiantynivka route from the south, which feeds Bakhmut, and from the north they will try to cut off the Bakhmut-Slovyansk route

," - said the expert.
