She also insisted that the EU would continue to sanction countries that support Russia militarily, such as Iran and Belarus.

The European Union will impose new sanctions on Belarus to continue pressuring Russia to end its war in Ukraine and will extend measures to those countries that support Moscow, she said.

"We will continue to put pressure on the Kremlin as long as necessary with a regime of harsh sanctions, we will extend these sanctions to those who militarily support Russia's war, such as Belarus or Iran," Von der Leyen said at the press conference, as added that "we will come up with new sanctions against Belarus in response to their role in this Russian war in Ukraine."
