The Russian opposition TV channel

"Rain"

received a license to broadcast in the Netherlands for a period of five years.

This was reported by the local media regulator Commissariaat voor de Media.  

The announcement with information on the website of the national regulator of the country is dated December 22, 2022. 

"The media regulator authorizes TVR Studios BV to provide commercial television broadcasting services as a commercial media entity through a program channel called TV Rain," the statement said.

Amsterdam-based TVR Studios BV applied for a broadcasting license as early as December 6, 2022.

The broadcasting license in the Netherlands will allow "Dozhd" to resume broadcasting in the cable networks of the countries of the European Union.

Scandal with the TV channel "Rain" 

On the Russian TV channel "Rain", in one of the programs, the presenter Oleksiy Korostelov announced the

help in equipping the mobilized occupiers

who are fighting against Ukraine.

Later, the host

Korostelev was fired.

Already on December 6, the National Council for Electronic Media of Latvia decided to cancel the license of the "Rain" channel.

Subsequently, the same decision was adopted in

Lithuania

and

Estonia.

The Migration Service of Latvia also said that "Rain" should explain what their employees will be doing in the country

after the cancellation of the license and the closing of the channel.
