She announced work priorities for 2023 and ways to support Belarus at the international level.

Zerkalo summarized the main points of her speech.

- The situation is getting worse.

We are fighting for the very existence of our country: the regime is tightening repressions, the Russian presence is increasing in the country, - the leader of the Belarusian democratic forces noted at the very beginning of her speech.

According to Tikhanovskaya, the first priority for the new year is to prevent Belarus from participating in the war in Ukraine.

To do this, the Demsila plan to intensify their efforts to strengthen sanctions against Lukashenka's regime.

Tsikhanovskaya insists on continuing the policy of non-recognition of Lukashenka, as well as on documenting the crimes of his system.

At the same time, she insists on supporting Belarusians on the ground and abroad.

- We must support Belarusians so that they do not feel abandoned.

Thus, the second priority is to continue creating funds to support the repressed and their families, as well as for the rehabilitation of ex-political prisoners who are released, - believes Tsikhanovskaya.

— Those who work in exile, NGOs, media also need support.

Many visa issues arise.

We need to speed up the visa policy, issuing visas, including in Belarus, is a matter of life and death for many.

We are also looking for a solution for those who may be deprived of Belarusian citizenship.

Another priority for the new year is the strengthening of the influence of the Demsil within Belarus and the discussion of the Belarusian issue at all levels abroad.

According to her, the democratic forces should be recognized as the true representatives of Belarus.

Svetlana Tikhanovskaya also noted that it is important to expand educational, cultural, educational projects aimed at promoting the Belarusian language and history.

- Belarus is part of Europe, not the "Russian world", - she emphasized.

According to Tikhanovskaya, the Demsila have already written a draft of the Constitution.

And they are actively working on reforms in the spheres of economy and politics, creating a reserve of personnel and training professionals who will later work in democratic Belarus.

To the question of how to reach out to people who remain in Belarus, the leader of the Demsilashe answered that regular communication with these Belarusians remains through the media, solidarity platforms, volunteers, and the structure of representatives of the United Cabinet.

- It is, of course, difficult, considering the danger for them.

But we are trying to find new ways to convey our messages.

We should also talk with "neutral" Belarusians and those who are on the side of the regime.

To explain what is happening, what the consequences will be, who is to blame, that sanctions have been imposed, - Tsikhanovskaya added.

Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu also spoke during the webinar.

According to him, first of all, it is necessary to avoid further involvement of Belarusians in the war in Ukraine and to provide support to democratic forces.

- We must continue the political isolation of Lukashenka's regime, as well as preserve the representation of the Belarusian issue at all forums.

It is important to introduce sanctions against Lukashenka's regime and avoid loopholes in this matter.

It is necessary to continue contacts with the democratic movement, including regarding the future of Belarus and the plan of recovery after the fall of Lukashenka's regime.

The program should be ready, said Reinsalu.

He added that after Svetlana Tikhanovskaya became a member of the official Estonian delegation, it guaranteed her access to the UN headquarters.

Meanwhile, Estonia decided to nominate its representative to the Belarusian democratic movement.

He will be in Vilnius from the beginning of February.

- I hope this will be a practical link between Estonia and the Belarusian democratic forces for further activities.

We should also try to ensure that representatives of the transitional government are also present at every conference where there are representatives of the Lukashenka regime, - Reinsalu said.
