For the period October 1 - December 31, 2022, financial inspectors of the State Financial Inspection Agency (SFI) completed 101 financial inspections and checks.

232 public procurements with a total value of BGN 430,421,298 and 612 contracts with a total value of BGN 269,128,246 were checked, announced the ADFI press center.

During the inspections, 473 violations were detected and 269 acts for establishing an administrative violation (AUAN) were drawn up.

21 unexecuted or unfounded public procurements with a total value of BGN 28,649,872 were found.

The identified non-purposely spent funds amount to BGN 3,649,823, of which BGN 157,422 were recovered in the budget during the inspections.

In the course of the inspections, 791,571 BGN damages were discovered, of which 17,586 BGN were recovered.

ADFI found problems in 24 public procurements for nearly BGN 20 million in the third quarter

ADFI's control bodies have established 31 "fraud indicators" within the meaning of § 1, item 9 of the Additional Provisions of the State Financial Inspection Act.

During the reporting period, financial inspectorates in municipalities had the highest share (59%), followed by other authorities with a budget under the state or municipal budget (18%), commercial companies with state or municipal participation in the capital (20%), ministries ( 2 %) and other objects (1 %).

The most frequently detected violations are of the Law on Public Procurement, the Law on Financial Management and Control in the Public Sector, the Law on Accounting, the Law on Public Finances, as well as by-laws.
