German Chancellor

Olaf Scholz

did not rule out the transfer of Leopard tanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

However, Berlin will not take such a step on its own, but only with its allies.

Scholz said this during an event of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), writes Reuters.

"Germany will not go it alone. Germany will always remain united with its friends and allies," Scholz said.

He said the opposite would be irresponsible in such a dangerous situation.

According to him, he is still convinced of the need to coordinate the supply of weapons to Ukraine with allies.

They, the chancellor stressed, spent "a long time preparing, discussing and organizing this."

It will be recalled that during a conversation with Joe Biden, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that his country would join the United States

in supplying Ukraine with an additional Patriot air defense battery

.

Berlin will also supply Marder armored personnel carriers.

The head of the defense committee, Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, said that the

Bundestag will continue to put pressure on Scholz

so that Berlin provides Ukraine with Leopard tanks.
