There are serious problems in Russia's aviation industry due to Western sanctions.

Since the beginning of 2023 alone, there have been at least 7 accidents involving aircraft in the Russian Federation.

The Moscow Times writes about it.

The authors of the article note that during 2022, more than 130 incidents related to air transport took place on the territory of the aggressor country.

28 plane crashes are known.

This causes concern among experts in the aviation industry.

The main cause of mass breakdowns, they say, is the

lack of proper maintenance of the boards due to the shortage of spare parts in the country.

The publication presents the latest facts of plane accidents.

According to the media, the Utair passenger flight had to land in Western Siberia due to a malfunction of the air conditioner.

On January 6, an international Azur Air flight with 263 people on board, bound for Thailand, returned to Novosibirsk due to damage to the windshield.

Also this year, there has already been an accident with victims.

In the Far East of Russia, he noted the accident of the Soviet-made An-2 aircraft.

As a result of the plane crash, two people died, four more were injured.

Russia has serious problems with aircraft maintenance

After Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the European Union introduced sanctions, particularly against the aviation industry.

Among the restrictions, most of the world's countries have closed the sky for Russians, and the lessors have put forward a demand to return all the planes to their owners.

Also, these planes were stripped of their flight safety certificates.

Due to sanctions, Russia's largest airline, Aeroflot, began to dismantle planes.

Serviceable parts are removed from them and rearranged on other planes.

However, despite the imposed restrictions, Aeroflot purchased ten Boeing 777-300ER long-haul aircraft from an Irish leasing company.

The agreement took place on December 30, 2022.
