[Reporter Lai Xiaotong/New Taipei Report] The expropriation project on the north side of Xiulang Bridge in Zhonghe District, New Taipei City, which has been delayed for more than 20 years, was hindered in the past by the issue of the restricted river management line. , Affected by the Wuhan pneumonia epidemic and rising international raw material prices, the project has gone through 5 contracts and failed bids. The groundbreaking started today and is expected to be completed next year. In the future, the Zhonghe and Yonghe areas will be stitched together, and a new fire brigade will be established to improve the quality of local disaster relief and rescue.

Hou Youyi, Mayor of New Taipei City, said that the expropriation project on the north side of the Xiulang Bridge spans the two administrative districts of Zhonghe and Yonghe and is close to Xindian. Although the area is only 4.26 hectares, it is the only way for the MRT circular line. The local environment is rough and the terrain is low-lying and easy Waterlogging, fire and disaster relief resources are insufficient, and improvement is imminent. However, due to the limited river safety control, the urban plans passed in 1999 and 2005 have not been able to be implemented.

Hou Youyi said that after the Water Conservancy Department announced the lifting of river safety control in 2020, the city government actively promoted the development project. After 23 years of waiting and hard work, the construction finally started today. The transportation system will improve the traffic congestion in the direction of Yonghe and Taipei City. Two parks, one square and parking lot will be planned in the area, and a new fire brigade will be established to improve disaster prevention, disaster relief and rescue capabilities in the future.

Wang Liguo, director of the Land Affairs Bureau, pointed out that the development project is adjacent to the Xinbei Huanhe Expressway and the head of the Xiulang Bridge. 2.08 hectares of residential area, 0.06 hectare of temple area and 0.08 hectare of fire protection land are planned, and the rest is public facilities, including parks, green spaces, squares, roads, etc. In the face of climate change, this area is also the first low-impact development (LID) demonstration project in New Taipei City. Permeable pavement and rainwater storage systems are set up to slow down the damage to the natural ecology. Coordinate with the high beach project management office to catch up with the wind outside the embankment There are 400 parking spaces in the square to solve the parking problem of the public during the construction period.

Wang Liguo said that the total development cost of this project is 2.4 billion yuan, including 330 million yuan in engineering costs. Considering heavy rainfall and low-lying terrain, the project planning carefully evaluates the connection of surrounding areas and regional drainage issues. It is expected that the land allocation will be completed this year and next year. The MRT Loop Line Xiulangqiao Station can be connected to the Zhonghe Luzhou Line and Songshan Xindian Line, connecting "two districts and three tracks" in series, allowing the urban development of Xiulangqiaotou to move from the border to the core and become an important hub connecting New Taipei and Taipei.

The expropriation project covers an area of about 4.26 hectares at the northern side of the Zhonghe Xiulang Bridge in New Taipei City, which will be developed into residential areas, fire protection land, and public facilities in the future.
