A Mediterranean cyclone is forming over the Balkans and the Apennines with rainfall, and the penetration of cold air will provide conditions for snow as well.

On Monday until noon, the weather will be relatively calm in the flat part of the country with reduced visibility.

Along the Danube, in some areas of the Danube Plain and the Upper Thracian Plain, the fog will be permanent.

The sun will appear - for a short time in Western Bulgaria and for longer during the day in the east.

An increase in cloudiness will begin, but there will be no precipitation in the bright part of the day.

Daytime temperatures - between 7 and 12 degrees, lower in foggy areas.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be cloudy and rainy, and in some parts of the country the rainfall will be significant, with amounts for both days around and over 50 liters per square meter.

As the temperatures drop, first in the mountains of Western and Central Bulgaria, then in the lower foothills, as well as in some valleys of Western Bulgaria, the rain will turn to snow.

With such configurations, calm weather, fog in the morning, sun in the afternoon and daytime temperatures between 10 and 15 degrees are expected.

Only around January 20, a new rainy period is looming with the passage of a Mediterranean cyclone with rainfall and snow, and a drop in temperatures.
