In the West, there are three visions of how the war in Ukraine can end.

Oleksandr Musienko, head of the Center for Military and Legal Research, said this on the air of the "We - Ukraine" channel as part of a nationwide telethon.

"The West sees that the Ukrainian army has the necessary potential and if it is supported and given the necessary tools, then the Ukrainian Defense Forces are capable of going on the attack and causing serious damage to the enemy," said Musienko, commenting on the new defense aid to Ukraine.

The expert does not rule out that the West could really be convinced of the irreversibility of the Ukrainian victory and is now doing everything to ensure that this victory comes as soon as possible.

However, he is considering other options.

"We won't be honest to the end if we don't say that there are other approaches. That maybe a truce should come, but on much more favorable terms for Ukraine. Maybe it won't be a total Russian defeat," the analyst suggested.

According to him, there are three approaches.

The first approach

this is the Ukrainian approach that gathers the West around itself - the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine within the borders of 1991.

The second approach

"Derivative (from the first): those who say "yes, we support you", and the territorial integrity of Ukraine is a basic value, but let's try to win back the south, go to the border on February 23, and then include diplomacy regarding Crimea and ORDLO". - explains Musienko.

The third approach

"He said, 'how much you win back, you will have as much and establish a truce,'" said the expert. According to him, the first and second approaches are now winning. The third is more on the sidelines.

What is needed to end the war

  • Favorable circumstances.

  • consolidated position of Western partners.

"Because some people say, ``you will break them now, while they are building up their forces, Putin will die or something will happen to him, and after Putin we will go on the attack,'' the analyst says.

What to do with Russia

According to Musienko, Ukraine must convince its partners that the collapse of Russia is not as terrible as it might seem to them and it will not get worse.

He notes that more and more analysts in the West are beginning to lean towards this opinion.

China factor

The expert notes that China is also thinking about the collapse of the Russian Federation.

"Why don't they give weapons to Russia? Not because Xi Jinping supports Ukraine or the West, but because he sees that Russia is not capable. If China's military-industrial complex started working for Russia, it would be much more difficult for us," sums up the expert.

In his opinion, Beijing has not forgotten that part of the Russian Far East belonged to China in the 19th century.

And precisely because of China's submission, such reminders periodically appear in the Western press, says Musienko.

Is the collapse of the Russian Federation possible: what is known

Earlier, the Russian oppositionist and publicist Andriy Piontkovsky expressed the opinion that the Russian elites are preparing for a civil war and are already "showing their fangs".

Major General of the SBU reserve Viktor Yagun believes that the Russian Federation is beginning to "fall apart" from within due to a number of problems.

Military expert Petro Chernyk says that there will definitely be a mutiny in Russia.

Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security Council, reported that Russia has at least four armies that are not subordinate to each other.

Shoigu, Kadyrov, the head of the Roshvardiya Zolotov and the head of the PMK "Wagner" Prigozhin have their own armies.

According to military expert Oleg Zhdanov, China will use Russia as a bargaining chip in negotiations with the United States.
