Ukrainian neurosurgeon Dmytro Kubryak, who was in Russian captivity, told the details of the terrorist attack in Olenivka, where Ukrainian prisoners of war died.

UNIAN writes about this.

Dmytro Kubryak recalls that on the eve of the terrorist attack, the colony's guards felt free and were on the territory even without bulletproof vests and helmets.

He noted that this shows that the Russians purposefully organized a terrorist attack to kill Ukrainians.

"I have never heard such sounds - neither before nor after... The frantic screams of agonizing people were heard throughout the colony... It is indescribable! The explosion happened somewhere at 11:30 p.m., and only 30-40 minutes after us, Ukrainian medics were called in to help. We rushed to the scene of the tragedy - what we saw was shocking. Fifty people died immediately -

burned alive.

The rest crawled out of the barracks as best they could.

A huge number of wounded!

They writhed in pain and shouted: "Help !". And in this chaos, in the dark, we had to decide: who to help first, who not to help, who can wait," the doctor said.

Dmytro Kubryak noted that the

occupiers refused to help the wounded prisoners of war for 6 hours

.

They just stood by and laughed, as if enjoying the way the Ukrainian defenders were dying in agony.

Only six hours later, the first trucks with the wounded left for the hospital.

"People were just lying on the ground... People with deep, extensive burns, shrapnel wounds, traumatic limb amputations, internal organ damage... We ran between them, desperately trying to save them, and the colony workers just stood by the fence, ignoring our pleas to send the injured to the hospital.

They stood with smiles, uttering cynical remarks

... Such a passive contemplation of other people's suffering," recalls the medic released from captivity.

Due to the fact that medical assistance was not provided on time, 5 people died.

"During this time

, five people died

, eighty were taken to Donetsk, to the hospital. About thirty more were lightly injured - they were left in Olenivka, about the same number were almost unharmed," Dmytro recalls.

The terrorist attack in Olenivka: what is known

On the night of July 29, an explosion rang out

on the territory of the former correctional colony in the village of Olenivka in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region

.

There, the invaders held captive the Ukrainian military, including the defenders of Mariupol and civilians.

As a result of the planned terrorist attack,

about 50 people died, and another 130 were injured

.

The conclusions of international experts indicate that the cause of the explosion was a thermobaric weapon used by the Russian Federation.

The UN refused to investigate the terrorist attack in Olenivka, saying that the Russians did not allow the mission there.
