After the hundreds of complaints against the new tariff policy of SOS for urban transport before the ombudsman Diana Kovacheva

Diana Kovacheva was born in Sofia in 1975. She graduated in law from Sofia University "St. Kliment", there are already complaints in the Discrimination Commission.

Several times so far, I have commented on the clumsy decision of the city officials in the capital to change the tariff policy in public transport in such a way as to benefit the CGM, but harming the interests of citizens using this type of transport.

Where is the role of the municipality as a social institution?

The fact that "Moskovska" 33 acts as if they were hit and does not react to the protests of the thousands of affected passengers is not good behavior, because this year is also the local elections.

That is why it would not be bad for the so-called "municipal officials" to reconsider their apparently clumsy actions, harming the comforts of citizens for their own benefit and pleasure.

Sofia residents, who have purchased year-round public transport cards, feel discriminated against,

that they are forced to shell out a large amount once at the beginning of the year for this document, and then the forced constant validation on the buses and threats of fines if they don't check.

Recently, the former ombudsman Maya Manolova commented on these painful problems for the people of Sofia

Maya Bozhidarova Manolova is a Bulgarian politician, a representative from the parliamentary group of

She even went further with her proposal to make public rides free.

That's why:

"

Not more expensive, public transport in Sofia should be FREE!

After the hidden increase in the price of tickets since the beginning of the year and the increase in the price of cards for the elderly, the government is preparing support for people when using public transport.

This is valuable when people who used a card for BGN 23 now have to pay BGN 50 or instead of paper coupons for BGN 1.20, tickets for BGN 2.00 will now be bought from the driver.

But the solution to cleaner air and less congestion is completely free regular and comfortable public transport.

At the moment, Sofia's transport costs BGN 300 million per year, of which only BGN 66 million comes from tickets and maps.

Instead of their incomes increasing, they are collapsing, as for the last 3 years they have decreased by BGN 30 million. That is, every third person has stopped using public transport.

Only by stopping the thefts can the citizens of Sofia use completely FREE public transport without it costing a single lev more for the municipality and the state.

For 10 years in Tallinn, movement has been completely free, and now whole small countries like Luxembourg and Malta have made all their public transport free.

It's easy and it won't be more expensive under a different and socially minded administration of Sofia!"

Outside of wishful thinking, about the free transport, forget it!

This will not happen not only in Sofia, but also in Bulgaria.

Because of the thieving mentality of everyone in power.

In our folk psychology there is also the suspicion that the one who suspects another of cheating and corruption is himself predisposed to it.

A vicious circle from which there is no way out even with public transport.
