Dependence on energy resources from Russia for a long time needs to be overcome, as it was allowed to have too much dependence and we cannot expect it to drop so quickly, said Anton Ivanov from the Bulgarian Energy and Mining Forum in the studio of "Your Day" on NOVA NEWS.

In 2022, sufficient infrastructural possibilities have been provided to make supplies from sources other than Russian oil and gas, although we have been talking about these possibilities for many years.

Bulgaria already has a built infrastructure, the question is where the gas supplies will come from, he pointed out.

"Nobody can tell what the gas is.

And at the moment, Russian gas is delivered to Bulgaria.

This is not exactly the problem, but whether we violate the sanctions and whether we are a reliable partner for the EU countries.

Obviously, there are opportunities to make trade deals between private entities without violating the sanctions," Ivanov pointed out.
