Sir Paul McCartney was almost run over on a footpath outside the Abbey Road studios while his daughter Mary was filming a documentary dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the world-famous building, DPA reported.

The Beatles musician attempted to recreate the band's 1969 Abbey Road album cover for his daughter's first full-length production, Disney Plus' If These Walls Could Sing.

The legendary foursome from Liverpool recorded in the famous studios and named their 11th album after them.

The iconic 'Abbey Road' cover features the band members crossing the zebra crossing on the street of the same name.

"As we were leaving (the studio), I said, 'I'm going to take a picture of you (at the crossing)', he started going, and one car didn't stop at all!" Mary McCartney, who is a photographer and director, told Es magazine.

Her documentary was released late last year.

The 53-year-old says she was "really nervous" to show her father the finished film.

"I took him to the cinema to see it and I kept thinking, 'Oh my God, I hope he likes it... The next day I was at an event and someone said, 'I saw your dad and he was talking about the documentary movie".

It's a place that Paul McCartney is really addicted to... When he heard I was making a documentary he was really pleased and it made him think again about Abbey Road Studios and a lot of the stories."

Mary says she always gets emotional when visiting the place and "reminisces about old times" spent there with her mother Linda McCartney, who died in 1998. "Many of the people who still work there were with my parents as well. They pulled me aside and said, 'We really remember your mother... how great she was.'" Paul McCartney's daughter admits the memories brought tears to her eyes.

The legendary Paul McCartney will no longer sign autographs

Mary McCartney's film features a special appearance by her father, who is now 80, along with fellow Beatles member Ringo Starr, as well as Elton John, Pink Floyd's Roger Waters and Liam Gallagher.

Abbey Road Studios was established in 1931 by the Gramophone Company, inherited from IM, which in turn was bought by Universal Music in 2012.
