On the evening of January 9, messages about "cotton" in Belgorod Oblast began to appear on social networks.

This was reported by eyewitnesses of the incident.

Loud sounds, according to reports, were heard in Shebekin city district. 

"Explosions can be heard in Rozumny (a village in the Belgorod region - ed.) - it is not clear whether Shebekino or Zhovtnevy is," they wrote in the networks.

They also reported a heavy rumble in the Tavrove settlement.

There was information about the disappearance of the light in Shebekin city district, but it has not yet been confirmed.

Currently, there are no official statements from the local authorities.
