The report states that

Dmytry Baskau

"took part in the action of the

Alyaksei Talay

Foundation to organize the stay of schoolchildren from the Donetsk and Luhansk republics in Minsk during the winter school holidays."

As part of this trip, about 50 children from the so-called "DPR" and "LPR" visited Minsk.

These are the occupied territories of Ukraine, where pro-Russian separatists with the support of Moscow have declared so-called "people's republics" with centers in Donetsk and Luhansk.

According to the information of the Council of the Republic, the hockey club "Dinamo" (Minsk) and the Hockey Federation joined the action.

Baskav is the coach of the hockey team of

Alexander Lukashenko

and his youngest son Mikalai, in 2020-21 he headed the federation for this type of sport, until he fell under international sanctions for complicity in the suppression of protests and possible involvement in the kidnapping and murder of protester Roman Bandarenka.

Alyaksei Talai is an active supporter of Lukashenka, supports the separatist formations "DPR" and "LPR".

The Ukrainian side demands sanctions in relation to him from international structures.

Talai personally visited the occupied territories of Ukraine last year, and in Minsk, the authorities named a school in his honor during his lifetime.

The de jure authorities still have not recognized the independence of the "DPR" and "LPR", as well as their annexation announced by Russia after the so-called "referendums".

At the same time, Lukashenko approved Russia's aggression against Ukraine and allowed Russian troops to enter the territory of Belarus.

Last autumn, Lukashenko de facto recognized the independence of Abkhazia, visiting it without the permission of the Georgian authorities.

However, after that, the parties did not sign any documents, and the legal recognition of this territory as an independent state did not happen either.
