The Lithuanian parliamentary delegation, led by Kastronas, chairman of the National Security and National Defense Committee, and Sakarinen, vice-chairman of the Taiwan Friendship Group, will visit Taiwan tomorrow.

[Reporter Lv Yixuan/Taipei Report] The Lithuanian Congressional Mission consists of 9 members of the National Security and National Defense Committee Chairman Laurynas Kasčiūnas and the Deputy Chairman of the National Taiwan Friendship Group Dovilė Šakalienė. Will visit Taiwan tomorrow.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated today that this is Lithuania's first high-ranking cross-party parliamentary group, which will deepen bilateral friendship, link the cooperation between the two countries in the security field, and demonstrate the solidarity and cooperation of front-line democracies. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs sincerely welcomes it.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the delegation will visit Taiwan from January 9th to 14th.

The delegation led by Chairman Kastronas and Vice-Chairman Sakarinen is the first high-level cross-party congressional delegation after four Lithuanian deputy ministerial officials led a delegation to visit last year. President Su Zhenchang, Legislative President You Xikun, Secretary-General of the National Security Council Gu Lixiong, as well as the Mainland Affairs Council, the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of National Defense and other relevant ministries and committees will receive a banquet from Foreign Minister Wu Zhaoxie.

In addition to the official visit, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also mentioned that the visiting delegation will have in-depth exchanges and experience sharing with national defense and security think tanks in my country on issues such as the current situation in Europe and the Taiwan Strait, complex security threats, and national defense, so as to enhance mutual understanding and understanding.

Last year, China took advantage of the U.S. Speaker of the House of Representatives' visit to Taiwan to conduct a live-fire military exercise in the waters around my country. Lithuanian National Assembly Speaker Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen immediately supported Taiwan.
