, two more people were executed as a result of protests caused by the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini.

"Mohammad Mahdi Karami and Seyed Mohammad Hosseini, the main perpetrators of the crime that led to the martyrdom of Ruhollah Ajamian, were hanged this morning," - The Guardian quotes data from the judicial news agency Mizan Online.
It said the men were found guilty of murdering Ruhollah Ajamian, a member of the Basij militia linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, who died in Karaji, west of Tehran.
This allegedly happened during protests caused by the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini, who was detained by Iranian security forces for improperly wearing a hijab.
A trial court sentenced the two men to death in early December, and the Supreme Court later upheld their death sentences, charging them with Ajamian's murder on November 3.

Mass protests in Iran began after the death of a 22-year-old girl.
On September 16, 2022, 22-year-old Mahsa Amini died in a hospital in Tehran shortly after being detained by the police for improperly wearing a hijab.
Iranian police said the girl suffered a heart attack, but her relatives denied she had any heart disease.
According to the media, Amina was beaten in a van for detainees, she was allegedly taken to the hospital with head injuries.
After the death of Amina, protests against the arbitrariness of law enforcement officers began in the country.
According to the Iran Human Rights Non-Governmental Organization (IHRNGO), Iranian security forces killed at least 326 people during the protests.

Mohsen Shekari was accused of attacking a member of the pro-government Basij paramilitary group, as well as obstructing traffic on one of the capital's streets.
For this he was hanged.
Human rights groups said Shekari was tortured and forced to confess, and the United States and its allies condemned the execution.
On December 12, Iran
hanged the second participant of the anti-government protests
that are currently ongoing in the country.
He was accused of killing security forces.
According to the human rights organization Amnesty International, the Iranian authorities have already issued at least 21 death sentences during show trials aimed at intimidating the participants of mass protests.
Protests continue in Iran, the authorities threaten to "deal with" the protesters.
"Iranian authorities are obliged to immediately cancel all these death sentences, refuse to carry out the executions and drop the charges against all those arrested for participating in peaceful protests," the statement said.
