[Reporter Yang Jincheng/Tainan Report] The environmental sustainable coexistence action in Haomeili, Budai Town, Chiayi County, which uses sea waste oysters to fix sand and raise beaches, won the honor of "Sustainable Story Award of Top 100 Global Destinations" in 2022. Yesterday (6th) It has also been shortlisted for the "Green Destination Story Award" at the ITB Berlin International Travel Exhibition. It can be called the light of Taiwan. The list of winners will be announced on March 7.

The Yunjianan Binhai National Scenic Area Management Office promotes public-private cooperation to restore the coast of Chiayi Budaihaomeili Community. Over the past 7 years, more than 9,000 casuarinas, water yellow bark, and hibiscus have been planted to form a security forest, and the coastline has been successfully extended by 300 meters. The Yunjianan Management Office said today that "The Green Destinations Story Awards" (The Green Destinations Story Awards) was selected from the previous year's Top 100 Destination Sustainability Stories among the 100 stories, from 6 In each of the major categories, 6 stories of the most inspiring and sustainable tourism measures will be selected to be shortlisted.

The sustainable story of Budai Haomili was shortlisted in the category of nature and landscape, and the list of winners will be announced at the world's largest international travel exhibition ITB Berlin on March 7.

The Yunjianan Management Office continued to deepen the spirit of sustainability after winning the award for the sustainable story in Haomili last year. Recently, it worked with residents to build an installation art of a boat symbolizing the ocean with abandoned oyster scaffolding on Haomili Beach, and planted red and white bougainvillea , hanging the safe wind chimes made of clam shells, hoping that the bougainvillea will form a ship shape in the future, beautify the environment and provide tourists with shade.

Chen Yuchuan, director of the Yunjianan Management Office, said that this year, he will continue to work with the Haomei community and related associations to manage the sustainable story of Miri, establish a green production and consumption model, and cooperate with local governments to develop green and low-carbon tourism.
