There is currently no direct threat of an attack from Belarus on Ukraine, but possible options for aggression in the coming months are being considered.

Lieutenant-General Oleksandr Pavlyuk, the commander of the Kyiv Defense Forces and Means Group, told about this in an interview with Suspilno, published on January 7.

He noted that there is currently no immediate threat of a second attack from the territory of Belarus, because the enemy does not have the necessary forces and means.

"There are certain groups on the territory that is the border between Ukraine and Belarus. But, given our potential, it is unlikely that they will succeed. All that is being done now is to

restrain our forces on the northern border

so that we cannot transfer them to the east," explained Pavlyuk.

According to him, Belarus is being occupied by military forces, which are stationed at training grounds, most likely for a long time.

The general believes that "there will be no future Belarus as an independent country."

"We are

considering possible options for aggression in the coming months

. But for this, we need to transfer the appropriate forces and means that Russia is currently restoring on their training grounds. So far, we do not see such intentions, but we are preparing for them," said the commander of Kyiv's defense.

He also assured that the Ukrainian military constantly monitors the movement of the Russian occupiers from the training grounds.

The Ukrainian group on the border with Belarus is ready to meet the enemy.

"

There are several defense lines around Kyiv

with a total length of about a thousand kilometers. A powerful defense system has been created there based on professional positions and long-lasting structures," Pavlyuk said.

Threat from Belarus

We will remind you that earlier Pavlyuk reported that in the event of an invasion from Belarus, the Defense Forces of Ukraine plan to stop the enemy at the border.

According to the general, the military-political leadership will have time to notify citizens in case of a repeated attempt to attack Kyiv.

Let us add that Russian troops and military equipment continue to arrive in Belarus.

So, on January 6, three echelons with the equipment of the armed forces of the Russian Federation arrived there: "Urals", "Kamaz", armored personnel carriers, fuel tankers and wagons with personnel.

Note that in mid-December 2022, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhnyi warned that Russia is preparing about 200,000 troops who will go on the offensive either in Donbas, or from the south, or from Belarus.
