In the USA, a six-year-old boy shot a 30-year-old elementary school teacher in the city of Newport News, Virginia.

The police detained the child.

This is reported by CNN.

According to Police Chief Steve Drew, an argument broke out between the student and the teacher, after which the student fired one shot.

The law enforcement officers believe that the shooting was not an accident: the boy deliberately brought a firearm to school and pointed it at the teacher.

There were no other children in the class at the time of the fight.

He added that the injured teacher is in critical condition.

Doctors are currently fighting for her life.

Meanwhile, the police are investigating where the schoolboy got the weapon.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
