Mariupol

, Donetsk region, the Russians demolished a residential quarter they had destroyed in order to probably build an "elite district" for their own.  

This was reported by Petro Andryushchenko, adviser to the mayor of Mariupol.

"On the fourth of January, I wrote about the quarter on Nakhimova Ave. in the Primorsky district, which the Russians plan to demolish for a bribe to Gauleiter Ivashchenko. Less than three days have passed, and the quarter is almost gone. Such a Christmas present from the occupiers. To myself and the families of the collaborators," - the message says.

The situation in Mariupol

The occupiers are gradually turning the Mariupol seaport

into a military base

At the end of December, all residents of Mariupol were released from the port (with the exception of individual collaborating specialists) and workers were brought in from Russia.

In Mariupol, the Russians

demolished buildings in the Left Bank district.

Among them are two kindergartens, a school and a children's rehabilitation center.

Now housing for the military will be built here.

The ex-commander of the US ground forces in Europe, Lieutenant General Ben

Godges, is convinced that Ukraine can liberate Mariupol and Melitopol by January 2023.
