Turkish President Recep Erdogan's spokesman Ibrahim Kalin expressed his position on the war in Ukraine.

He blamed Russia for prolonging hostilities in Ukraine.

He said this in an interview with CNN Turk, commenting on Erdogan's conversation with the presidents of Russia and Ukraine yesterday.

Erdogan's spokesman expressed hope that the Russians will continue the "truce" they announced, and that Ukraine will join the call.

"Basically, Russian bombing

continues this war and complicates any negotiations.

At least a unilateral ceasefire meant that Russia would stop, and then Ukraine. And that's what our president called on the two leaders yesterday. We can get a local ceasefire. This could turn into a kind of negotiating environment that brings the negotiators back together. But we will continue to make these calls while telling the facts. Neither side seems ready to lay down their arms and sit down at the negotiating table right now. And we are concerned that we will see a further escalation of the conflict in Ukraine over the next few months," Erdogan's representative added.

Kalyna, commenting on the negotiations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, believes that Ukrainians should see concrete steps on the part of the Russians - the withdrawal of troops and the exchange of prisoners - in order for them to sit down at the negotiating table.

"

"Ukrainians need to see some concrete steps from the Russian side, such as the Russian plan to withdraw troops from the territory of Ukraine and exchange prisoners, the Zaporizhzhya NPP, the continuation of the grain agreement," he said.

Kremlin "truce" for Christmas

We will remind you that on January 5, the Russian president-dictator

Putin ordered his military to cease fire

along the entire line of conflict between the parties in Ukraine for Christmas.

The Kremlin appealed to the Ukrainian side to also announce a ceasefire for the holidays

The next day, the Ministry of Defense of Russia expectedly accused Ukraine of not observing the "ceasefire" regime on Christmas Day, without mentioning shelling by the occupiers.

The Pentagon confirmed that the Russian army is not abiding by the "ceasefire" that it proposed.
