The Russian invaders continue their attempts to capture the
Donetsk
region and enter its administrative borders.
It is Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the "Wagner" PMC, who is so interested in this goal.
Military expert Oleg Zhdanov, in a commentary on Channel 24,
explained
what caused such interest in the capture of the region by the leader of the Wagnerites.
Zhdanov spoke about the connection between politics and the economy.
So, he noted, there is a water intake near Slovyansk, which the enemy needs to solve problems with drinking water in Donetsk.
In addition, Slovyansk and Kramatorsk are the centers of the Yuziv shale gas field.
It is not only very highly rated.
There is so much of it that it is possible to cover the needs of both Ukraine and European countries.
And lithium is also mined there.
"Besides, as it turns out now, Prigozhin has his own interests in salt mines and limestone. That's why there is such a desire, regardless of the amount of losses, to take this territory away from us," the expert explained.
Battles in the Donetsk direction
The Russians are concentrating their main efforts
on attempts to completely capture the Donetsk region
within the administrative border.
British intelligence noted that the section of the front near the Kreminnaya Luhansk region
could become a threat to the Russians in the direction of Bakhmut.
The Russians
are constantly attracting new resources
to advance the defense of the Armed Forces.
As Reuters writes, Yevgeny
Prigozhin, "Putin's cook", oligarch and founder of PVK "Wagner", allegedly wants to control the salt and gypsum mines
near Bakhmut in Donetsk region.
Like, in particular, that is why a Ukrainian city is important for a businessman.
