Even if Russia succeeds in raising half a million people in a new wave of mobilization, it will still not be able to assemble a strike group for a new offensive.

This opinion was expressed by military expert Oleksandr Kovalenko.

"

Russia does not have tank potential at the beginning of 2022,

and it will not be possible to restore it. Even the deconservation of equipment does not give the desired result due to the large number of tanks that require additional repair after storage, which sometimes costs a month or more for one combat vehicle," he noted he.

The second reason, according to him, is that the Russians have big problems with artillery.

"On offense and defense, the Russian army is helpless without artillery, with which it currently has a serious problem. Only one location is provided with an acceptable amount of artillery - Bakhmut, but at the same time it feels an acute shortage of ammunition," the expert explained.

According to Kovalenko, the new offensive of the Russians without tank potential, artillery and full provision of the front with ammunition will end

in "mass suicide" of the newly mobilized.

A new wave of mobilization in the Russian Federation and a repeated attack on Ukraine

We will remind, Ukrainian intelligence reported that on January 15, Russia plans to announce a new mobilization and recruit up to 500,000 fighters.

The newly minted occupiers will be sent on the offensive in the Donetsk, Kharkiv regions and, possibly, in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Note that, according to military expert Oleg Zhdanov, Russian President Vladimir Putin expects to prepare reserves in January-February in order to launch a new major offensive on February 24, the anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine.
