The president of the aggressor country, Vladimir Putin, is preparing the population of Russia for the fact that they will have to wage a long war, but not only with Ukraine, but with the "collective West" and "NATO countries".

Oleksandr Merezhko, head of the Verkhovna Rada committee on foreign policy and interparliamentary cooperation, spoke

about this in an interview with

TSN.ua.

According to him, Putin understands that the topic of SVO [“special military operation”] did not work, and it is no coincidence that he recently used the term “war” in a speech.

"He understands that it is necessary to prepare Russian society with the help of propaganda for the fact that it will be a long war.

That is why propaganda rhetoric will change," Merezhko believes.

In this way, according to the expert, the president of the aggressor state is trying to justify the fact that he was essentially defeated in Ukraine.

"He says that this war is not only against Ukraine, but a war against the entire Western, that is, the civilized, democratic world, and it is a war against NATO.

Otherwise, he cannot explain these defeats to the population of his country," he summarized.

We will remind, in Russia, the municipal deputy of St. Petersburg "Smolninsk" MoD Mykyta Yuferev demands from the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation to open a criminal case against the President of Russia Vladimir Putin for the word "war" used in the speech in the context of the so-called "special military operation" in Ukraine.
