On Friday, January 6, power outages in Kyiv occurred according to schedules.

The same outages are likely to occur during the weekend.

This was announced by the general director of the energy supply company YASNO, Serhiy Kovalenko.

According to him, as usual, power companies have the opportunity to supply more electricity for consumption on weekends, but this time the weather may interfere.

Forecasters predict a significant cooling down in the next few days.

"I have already said: every -5 degrees outside is +250 MW for consumption.

And now the volumes that are provided to the population do not at all give the opportunity to speed up and count on some additional megawatts.

Therefore, on weekends, most likely, outages will be strictly according to the schedule, although previously Saturday-Sunday could pass without outages or with minimal outages," Kovalenko said.

In addition, the general director of the energy supply company warned about the possibility of local accidents due to frost.

"Be careful.

Use electrical appliances carefully and do not plug everything into the outlet at once," he appealed to the people of Kyiv.

We will remind, on January 3, the capital returned to stabilization schedules.
