Today the election of the Mayor of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will be held.

Along with this, the Deputy Mayor and 6 members of the Standing Committee will also be selected in the Civic Center (MCD Mayor Election).

Voting will be held on this from 11 am.

All the preparations related to the elections have been completed.

Before that all the councilors who won the MCD elections will be administered the oath of office and secrecy.

After this, the process of election of MCD mayor and deputy mayor will start through ballot paper.

274 people will vote


, in this 250 elected councilors will vote.

Along with this, 7 Lok Sabha MPs of Delhi, 3 Rajya Sabha MPs and 14 MLAs among the nominated people, who have been made on the consent of the Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, will also take part in the voting.

Overall, only 274 people will be voters in this election.

Election will be held in


the Civic Center On the fourth floor of the Civic Center, seating arrangements have been made for 300 people including officials, councilors, MPs and MLAs in the House premises.

Councilor supporters of any party will not be allowed inside the premises.

Apart from Aam Aadmi Party, BJP has also fielded its candidates for this election.

AAP had registered victory in 134 wards In


the elections held in 250 wards of MCD, the Aam Aadmi Party had registered victory in 134 wards by defeating the BJP formed in Municipal Corporation of Delhi for 15 years.

Also, BJP got victory in 104 wards in this election.

Congress will not take part in


the election, on the other hand Congress has announced not to take part in this election.

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Anil Kumar said that the people of Delhi have supported the BJP and the common man, respecting which the party will stay away from the election of mayor, deputy mayor and standing committee.

He said that if the people of Delhi gave majority to Kejriwal's party, then Kejriwal should be made his mayor and serve the people of Delhi.

This time 9 Congress councilors have won the Delhi Municipal Corporation elections.

The Congress has appointed Nazia Danish as the leader of the Congress party in the MCD, Sheetal as the deputy leader and Shagufta Chowdhary as the chief of the Congress party in the corporation through the whip.
