A woman was hospitalized with life-threatening conditions after an accident near Targovishte, the police inform.

The accident took place on January 5 at around 7:15 p.m. on "Bulgaria" Blvd. in the town of Popovo. A 34-year-old licensed driver from the same city, driving a car in the direction of "29 Juni" St., lost control of his steering.

As a result, he hit another car moving along the road, driven by a 21-year-old driver from the village of Kardam, Popovo municipality.

As a result of the road accident, a 30-year-old woman, who was traveling in the right front seat, was hospitalized for treatment with pneumothorax of the lung and with life-threatening fractures of the ribs and femur.

The two drivers were tested for the possible presence of alcohol or narcotics.
