The genuine and counterfeit 1,000-yuan bills can still be distinguished if you look carefully. A man took two thousand-yuan counterfeit bills to a supermarket for shopping and was spotted twice.

Suggestions, nothing to do with the news.

[Reporter Chen Fengli/Report from Nantou] As the Chinese New Year is approaching, night markets and delivery people are reporting that they have received counterfeit thousand-yuan or hundred-yuan banknotes. The public should be careful to identify them, and those who use counterfeit banknotes should be careful to violate the law!

A man surnamed Ke in Nantou County used two counterfeit thousand-yuan banknotes to buy game points at a remote supermarket twice in the early morning, but the clerk saw through them. During the trial period of Nantou District Court, he failed to leave the country six times. Sentenced to 2 years and 2 months in prison, and will continue to be detained without bail.

A man surnamed Ke bought counterfeit thousand-yuan banknotes on a well-known shopping website. At around 0:00 a.m. on a certain day in late April 2020, he took two counterfeit thousand-yuan banknotes to a convenience store in Xinyi Township to buy game points. The clerk recognized them at a glance. It was a counterfeit banknote, because the words "Magic Bank" were printed on it. After the clerk returned the counterfeit banknote to him, he rescued himself and said, "I'm so stupid. I received a counterfeit banknote. I'll withdraw money later and buy it again!"

Two hours later, Ke Nan went to the same supermarket again and used two counterfeit thousand-yuan bills to buy game points, but when he met the same clerk, he immediately said, "This is still a counterfeit bill!" Ke Nan resentfully said, He pretended to go to the ATM to withdraw money, but then ran out without a trace. The clerk immediately called the police and handed over the thousand-yuan counterfeit banknotes to the police.

After being arrested by the police, Ke Nan confessed to buying counterfeit banknotes on a shopping website. After the case was prosecuted, it was transferred to the Nantou District Court. The judge held 7 court sessions. He only appeared in court once. The others were temporarily contacted by phone. He asked for leave afterwards and did not attend court. Yue simply left the country, and was later detained in court on August 28, and the judge ordered him to be detained on the spot.

The case was concluded recently, and he was sentenced to 2 years and 2 months in prison for the crime of counterfeiting currency notes.

Ke's application for detention on bail was rejected, and he was determined to spend the New Year in the detention center.
