The Russian occupiers are increasingly relying on Iranian-made

drones

in their war against Ukraine and have likely depleted their current supply of these drones significantly.

This is stated in the report of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

Russian forces have increased the pace of drone attacks on Ukrainian critical infrastructure over the past month.

It is reported that drones arrive in the Russian Federation from Iran in batches of 200 and 300 units.

The Russian contract with Iran provides for the transfer of 1,750 drones.

But it is currently unknown when the Russian Federation will receive another batch of Iranian-made drones.

"The Russian military has probably become dependent on the use of Iranian-made drones, as they are a cheap alternative to high-precision missiles, the reserves of which the Russian military has probably exhausted significantly," experts say.

Analysts believe that Russia will seek further bilateral cooperation with Iran to secure more precision weapon systems for use in Ukraine.

Earlier, the representative of the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Yusov reported that as of January 4, Russia has in its arsenal about 100

Iranian kamikaze drones

, which it uses to attack Ukraine.

According to Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ignat, Russian forces launch Iranian Shahed kamikaze drones after dark along the Dnipro River

to make them more difficult to detect by radar.
