on January 4, during demining, the 42-year-old head of the pyrotechnic works group died due to the detonation of ammunition.

Another sapper was wounded.

Oleg Synegubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, told about it.

It is known that the tragedy happened in the Izyum district.

In addition to the head of the pyrotechnic work group, a senior sapper of the same group was injured.

He was hospitalized in moderate condition.

"The mine danger remains very high in the region. Yesterday in the village of Shiykivka of the Izyum district, during demining operations, the head of the pyrotechnic work group, lieutenant colonel of civil defense Serhii Gotsulyak, died due to the detonation of an ammunition. He was 42 years old," writes the head of the region.

In addition, a 22-year-old civilian man was blown up by an unknown explosive device in the area of ​​the city of Balaklia, Izyum district.

Hospitalized with moderate explosive injuries. 

In total, 44 explosive objects were neutralized by pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service during the day.

Citizens are urged to remember the danger of mines and to be as attentive and careful as possible.

Meanwhile, the Russian occupiers continue to fire artillery, tanks and mortars at the border settlements of the Kupyan, Kharkiv and Chuguyiv districts of the region.

On January 4, Kupyansk, Vovchansk, Krasne, Staritsa, Ohirtseve, Dvorichna, Kislivka and other settlements were under fire.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the shelling.
