The Confucius Temple in Taipei launched a hand-made activity before the New Year’s Eve, and the public can experience paper-cutting for the Year of the Rabbit.

[Reporter Cai Sipei/Taipei Report] The Year of the Tiger is coming to an end. The Confucius Temple in Taipei will launch hand-made activities before the New Year’s Eve. People can experience the Year of the Rabbit paper-cutting, block printing and red envelopes to welcome the coming Year of the Rabbit.

The Taipei City Government Municipal Building will also distribute Spring Festival couplets handwritten by master calligraphers on January 7, which will be available to the public for free.

The Confucius Temple in Taipei invites calligraphers to write Spring Festival couplets on January 8, and the public can experience the charm of calligraphy art on the spot; on January 15, there will be a "Hongtu Exhibition of Paper-cutting Fun" event, encouraging everyone to come and experience the strong flavor of the New Year. Together, you can experience the Confucian Temple limited edition printed Dou Fang, red envelope bags and Chinese zodiac paper-cutting.

The rabbit on the fighting side holds a writing brush that symbolizes wisdom, while the other rabbit holds an onion that symbolizes wisdom. It is hoped that the epidemic will be bid farewell in the coming year, with both wisdom and great ambitions.

Every year before the Lunar New Year, the Beishi government will present free Spring Festival couplets in the atrium of the city hall building, which has lasted for 18 years.

From 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on January 7 this year, the 2023 "Spring Festival couplets sent by outstanding citizens of Taipei City" will be held in front of the East District Teachers and Students Gallery on the 1st floor of the Taipei Municipal Government Building. Citizens can obtain it free of charge.

Calligraphers are also invited to write Spring Festival couplets before the New Year's Eve at the Confucius Temple in Taipei.
