Russian dictator Putin's "instruction" about the so-called "Christmas truce" is an exclusively propaganda gesture and nothing more.

This was stated by the adviser to the head of the Office of the President Mykhailo Podolyak in a comment to TSN.ua.

According to him, Russia is trying in every possible way to reduce the intensity of fighting and the intensity of attacks on its logistics centers, at least for a while.

The enemy wants to gain time to carry out additional mobilization, build large-scale fortifications in captured territories and regroup the army.

"It was not possible to do this by one or another military means. Therefore, standard informational tricks were used. In addition, Russia wants to show the alleged "humanistic approaches in war" and try to convince the Europeans so that they start putting pressure on us. They have one task: "an immediate negotiating table, acceptance of the Russian ultimatum, a new line of division". This is the cynical content of Putin's instruction on a "temporary ceasefire". A banal reception, Podolyak noted.

The adviser to the head of the OP is sure that there is not even the slightest desire to end the war in the proposal of the Russian Federation regarding the "Christmas truce".

Podoliak reminded that Russia attacks civilian objects with missiles/drones, including places of religious rites, and does it precisely on Christmas holidays.

"Therefore, once again: there is no need to react to deliberately manipulative initiatives of the Russian leadership," he urged.

On Twitter, Podolyak called Putin's statements about a "truce" "hypocrisy".

"First. Ukraine does not attack foreign territory and does not kill the civilian population, as the Russian Federation does. Ukraine only destroys members of the occupation army on its territory.

Second.

The Russian Federation must leave the occupied territories - only then will a "temporary truce" begin.

Leave the hypocrisy to yourself," said the adviser to the head of the OP.

We will remind that the Russian dictator Putin gave an order to the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu to cease fire along the entire line of combat of the parties in Ukraine on Christmas.
