German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock reacted to the "Christmas truce" from Russia.

She emphasized that if Putin really wanted peace, he would have taken his occupiers from the territory of Ukraine.

She wrote about it on Twitter.

"If Putin wanted peace, he would take his soldiers home and the war would be over. But it is clear that he wants to continue the war after a short break. The so-called cease-fire will bring neither freedom nor security to the people who live in daily fear under the Russian occupation. Therefore, we will continue to support Ukrainians - so that they live in peace and self-determination again," the German minister emphasized.

"Christmas truce" from Russia: what is known

The day before, Russian Patriarch Kirill, who supports mass murders of Ukrainians, declared the need for temporary peace in Ukraine, saying "let the faithful go to church on Christmas Eve."

Kremlin dictator Putin supported this.

After that, the Minister of Defense of the occupying country, Shoigu, announced the alleged "36-hour ceasefire in Ukraine".

Oleksiy Danilov, the Secretary of the National Committee of the Russian Academy of Sciences, replied that the Russians had not agreed on anything with Ukraine and noted that the Kremlin has nothing to do with Christmas.

Note that a day before Easter 2022, Russia fired missiles at a residential building in Odesa, killing at least 8 people.

At that time, Ukraine offered the occupiers to establish a temporary truce, but the Kremlin rejected it.
