Undeclared currency with an equivalent of BGN 1,077,264 was discovered by customs officers of TD Mitnitsa Ruse during an inspection of a truck in the area of ​​Danube Bridge 2, reported the "Customs" Agency.

On 30.12.2022, customs inspectors stopped for a thorough inspection in the area of ​​the Danube Bridge Vidin-Kalafat border crossing a truck with Turkish registration numbers, transporting paper on rolls from the Czech Republic to Turkey.

In the cargo area, the customs officers found a bag full of 9 packages.

6 of the packages are covered with transparent foil, and three of them are wrapped with wrapping paper.

After unpacking them, the inspectors found that all the packages contained currency in Swedish kroner notes.

The total amount of undeclared currency is 6 million Swedish kroner, and their BGN equivalent is BGN 1,077,264.

In another case, on January 3, again in the area of ​​the Danube Bridge Vidin-Kalafat border crossing, customs officers checked a truck with Turkish registration plates transporting household goods from Great Britain to Iran.

Undeclared currency worth over BGN 2 million was found behind the bed of a dealer

The driver declared that he was carrying 5,000 euros, but in the course of the inspection, the inspectors found that hidden in natural cavities of the cab were many packages containing wads of British pounds wrapped in transparent film.

The total amount of the discovered money is 100,000 British pounds with the BGN equivalent of BGN 223,138. Acts have been drawn up for the cases.
