Ruslan Onikiyenko, an officer of the National Guard of Ukraine, originally from Poltava region, died

during the war with the Russian invaders in

Donetsk region.

It is known that since 2016, the defender served in the National Guard as the head of the psychological support service of the military unit.

He had the rank of major.

An officer died on January 3 while performing a combat mission in the village of Kurakhove.

He is survived by his wife and a four-year-old son.

On the Internet, acquaintances and comrades remember the defender as not indifferent to other people's grief, positive, polite.

He had respect and authority among his colleagues.

One of his comrades said that Ruslan was traveling with his brother and came under heavy fire from the occupiers.

The injuries he received turned out to be fatal: "He was driving with his brother near Kurakhov from the direction of Bakhmut, there was a heavy shelling, they jumped out of the car... and the blast wave covered him with branches... his leg was torn off... The medics were following them, but he was just chewing... ...the lungs were filled with blood."

"The war brought us closer, I remember at the first couple of days they brought him everything they had and could buy, dishes, food, cigarettes, bags... Once he asked for financial assistance to bury his brothers... and a music column on the day that the national anthem of Ukraine sounded at the cemetery, he asked because he was engaged in this, he was not indifferent to other people's grief," another friend of the fallen Hero writes.

The hero was born on March 21, 1993 in the village of

Sukhynivka, Kobeliatsky district, Poltava region.

Acquired the profession of electric welder.

In October 2011, he was called up for military service.

Graduated from the National Academy of Internal Affairs with a major in Psychology.
