The occupiers are gradually turning the Mariupol

seaport into a military base.

At the end of December, all residents of Mariupol were released from the port (with the exception of individual collaborating specialists) and workers were brought in from Russia.

This was

told

by Petro Andryushchenko, adviser to the mayor of Mariupol.

In the port, work has begun on dividing berths into conventionally civilian and conventionally military ones.

"Due to silting of the channel, ships with small equipment, such as the RM3 river-sea class, can still enter the water area of the port. However, this is not an obstacle to the taxing of the supply of military equipment in the spring shipping period. For now, we are recording individual unsystematic calls to the RM3 port with building materials and containers of unknown content," Andryushchenko said.

Also, according to him, a part of workers from Mariupol were "seconded" to Crimea in the third decade of December.

After that, contact with them was lost, their whereabouts are unknown to relatives.

In addition, Andryushchenko noted that the movement of enemy equipment has resumed towards the north of Donetsk region.

It is also reported about a large accumulation of military equipment and manpower before entering Berdyansk from the Mariupol ring.

The situation in Mariupol

In Mariupol, the occupiers

are "repairing" the houses that they themselves damaged during attacks on the city with tarps.

Recently, during a conversation on one of the social networks, the Russian occupier from Buryatia

told how they destroyed Mariupol.

The invader says that the Russians fired at residential buildings because they could see Ukrainian defenders everywhere.

The occupying "authorities"

forbade Mariupol residents to hold mass events

on New Year's holidays.

Residents of the city are prohibited from gathering together in the number of more than 50 people.

It is also not possible to celebrate in cafes and restaurants.

In Mariupol, the occupiers

demolished buildings in the Left Bank district

.

Among them are two kindergartens, a school and a children's rehabilitation center.

Now housing for the military will be built here.

The ex-commander of the US ground forces in Europe, Lieutenant General Ben Godges, is convinced that

Ukraine can liberate Mariupol and Melitopol by January 2023.
