The Russian army has reduced its activity in the

Bakhmut

district of the Donetsk region.

In mid-December, the Russian military and "Wagner" fighters took part in their infantry attacks around the city.

However, many of these operations were poorly maintained.

This is reported by the intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain.

"Russian offensive operations in this area are currently likely to be conducted only at the platoon or detachment level. It is unlikely that Russia will achieve a significant breakthrough near Bakhmut in the coming weeks," the report said.

It is emphasized that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have received reinforcements in this area over the past ten days.

According to intelligence, Ukraine has allocated significant reinforcements to protect the sector.

Thus, the frequency of Russian attacks decreased compared to the peak in mid-December.

"Both sides suffered heavy losses," the report concludes.
