The Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that the Ukrainian military has erected the national flag on the Great Potemkin Island near Kherson.

However, it is too early to talk about his release.

This was said by the head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces Humenyuk. 

According to her, the installation of a blue-yellow flag on the de-occupied territories is "

"Establishing the flag is a signal to the enemy that we are working, that the land is ours, and this is all Ukraine. It is also a reminder of the irreversibility of the processes we have planned. However, it is still too early to talk about the liberation of the island. We must realize that such declarations can significantly influence the further development of the situation," Natalya Humenyuk said.

Note that the Great Potemkin Island is located between the left and right banks of the Dnieper near Kherson.

On Monday evening, January 2, a video shot by the military with the Ukrainian flag raised on Veliky Potemkin Island was circulated online. 

We will remind, in the Kherson region, a car blew up with explosives, as a result of which two people died.
