[Reporter Ding Yi/Report from Taipei] The Expressway Bureau of the Ministry of Communications has recently promoted the extension of two east-west national highways, both of which can be opened to traffic before the Lunar New Year, including the extension of National Highway No. The commute to and from highways and urban areas is expected to open to traffic on the 9th; the extension of National Highway No. 4 to the east to connect with Taiwan Route 74 will not only increase the alternative roads for long-distance passers-by, but also serve the residents of Fengyuan, Shigang, and Dongshi. It is expected to open to traffic on the 16th.

State 2A 1/9 enabled

Wang Hongji, Section Chief of the Public Works Group of the Gaogong Bureau, said that in response to the increasing passenger traffic at Taoyuan Airport, the Gaogong Bureau has expanded the original two-way 4-lane to 6-lane, and is expected to open the newly completed national highway at 3 pm next Monday (9th). Wang Hongji pointed out that the east end of State 4 starts from the original Fengshi interchange, extends eastward, and then goes south through the mountainous area to use the Tanzi system interchange to connect to Taiwan Line 74. Residents in Shigang and Dongshi can quickly enter the expressway, Fengyuan People in the area no longer need to use the congested section from Fengyuan Interchange to Daya Interchange on National Highway No. 1, but can take National Highway No. 4 Fengtan Interchange.

In addition to benefiting the people of Taichung, Wang Hongji said that in the future, there will be an alternative road for traffic from the south of State 1 and the north of State 3, which can avoid the normal congestion of Fengyuan to Wufeng in State 3, and Fengyuan to Daya in State 1 road section.

National 4 Fengtan section 1/16 is fully open to traffic

Wang Hongji pointed out that the National 4 Fengtan section is 11 kilometers long, and it is the last section of the large Taichung ring-shaped high-speed road network. The tunnel construction crews are working hard in 24-hour shifts, and the entire line will be opened to traffic at 3 pm on the 16th. The traffic in the mountain city on the east side of the Taichung metropolitan area is more convenient.
