The municipality of Stamboliyski won a project for the replacement of street lighting, financed with BGN 1.2 million under the National Plan for Recovery and Sustainability.

This was announced by the mayor, Georgi Maradzhiev, specifying that BGN 400,000 of municipal funds were allocated.

"By the end of the mandate, BGN 1.6 million will be invested in LED lighting in Stamboliyski and the four settlements of the municipality.

With the implementation of this project, we will save a lot of municipal funds for electricity, because in addition to being economical, LED lighting is stronger and more efficient," the mayor specified.

Its lighting fixtures are also known as "smart lamps" because they are activated by sensors when there is movement of cars or pedestrians.

With such movement, the road is illuminated to the maximum in a certain section, and the sensor also takes into account the specifics of the terrain - a city part, a park, a boulevard, a pedestrian zone or a more remote area.

The moment movement is detected from the nearest body, the intensity of the lighting is increased and a radio signal is sent to the next street lamps connected to the electrical circuit.

When there is no traffic in the section, the lights are dimmed and this saving in electricity will allow more street lights to be installed, covering places where there are currently none.
