Forecaster Natalka Didenko told when to expect cold weather and snow in Ukraine.

She wrote about it on her Facebook.

According to her, the air temperature will start to decrease in the coming days, and the peak of cooling will fall on January 6-9.

Didenko says that precipitation will first appear as rain, then turn into sleet and snow.

"The coldest Christmas days and nights will be the north, the part of the center that is closer to the east and east of Ukraine, probably down to -10-16 degrees at night," the forecaster says.

In addition, Didenko said that the reason for the abnormally warm New Year in Ukraine was the lack of snow.

"An additional contribution to the powerful breakthrough of a tropical warming air mass from the regions of Africa was the absence or minimal amount of snow cover at the time of records, which would have absorbed at least a little of this abnormal heat. And we calmly look on, realizing that this heat is abnormal, that there are records, and that winter is still going on," the weather forecaster wrote.

According to her, the warm weather will continue on January 4, but there will be no precipitation.

The wind is expected to be predominantly northwest, 5-12 meters per second.

In Kyiv, on January 4, the air temperature will start to decrease, although it will still have "pluses", during the day +3+5 degrees.

Precipitation is also not expected.

The wind is northwest, 5-10 meters per second.

We will remind you that on the first day of the new year
