Climatologists of the Sreznevsky Central Geophysical Observatory compiled the weather results for 2022 in Kyiv.

According to the observations of the weather station of the observatory, the average annual temperature in the capital was +9.7°C, which is 0.7°C higher than the climatic norm.

It ranked seventh in the ranking of the warmest since 1881.

This is stated on the Facebook page of the Observatory.

Nine months of the year had positive air temperature deviations compared to the average long-term indicators, and three months showed negative deviations from it.

February, which had the largest positive deviation from the long-term average - 4.1°C, was especially notable.

Among the three months with a negative deviation, September was determined (-2.2°С).

The coldest last year was January 13 – minus 14.9°С, the hottest – June 29, when the temperature in the shade reached +34.4°С.

In total, 15 temperature records were set in Kyiv in 2022, and the most of them were in January and June - four each.

560 mm of precipitation fell at Nauky Avenue, 37, which corresponds to 91% of the climatic norm.

However, precipitation was very unevenly distributed over time - two monthly normals fell in November, and in May and June their amount did not exceed 57% of the average long-term indicators.

On January 1, in Kyiv for the first time in 143 years of observations, the average daily air temperature was +10.3°C, which is 4.4°C higher than the record temperature value for this day in 2021.
