Polish Ambassador to the UN Krzysztof Scherski believes that the West should not "save face" for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Such attempts by the leaders of the EU countries will only finally destroy the international order that was established after the Second World War.
This was discussed in an interview with a PAP politician.
According to the post-pred, the main question for how the new year will pass will be whether there will be a turning point in the war in Ukraine and under what conditions.
"The most important question is how the issues with Russia will be resolved. Is it possible that Russian imperialism will be recognized as an ideology that threatens the world order, on the same basis on which German Nazism was recognized at one time," said Krzysztof Schersky.
According to him, if the recognition of Russian imperialism as an ideology that threatens the world happened, it would open the way to repeating the decisions made after the end of the Second World War - depriving Russia of the tools to play the role of a global superpower, in particular, in the UN, bringing war criminals to the international court in epaulettes and suits, including the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, the payment of war reparations and other similar measures.
Shchersky believes that if the option of "establishing order" and saving Putin's face wins, it could be "the last nail in the coffin of the post-war order, symbolized by the principles of the UN Charter."
We will remind that neither Joe Biden, nor Emmanuel Macron, nor Olaf Scholz received greetings from the dictator Putin, instead, the Kremlin sent its greetings to the President of China Xi Jinping, Turkey's Recep Erdogan, Syria's Bashar Assad, Venezuela's Nicolas Maduro, and the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.
Instead, the French president again spoke about security guarantees for the Kremlin.
