There is no consensus in Russia regarding the continuation of the

war

with Ukraine.

Tymofiy Martynenko, an activist of the Russian youth democratic movement "Vesna", said this on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel.

Martynenko is convinced that the president of the aggressor country of Russia, Vladimir Putin, by declaring that 99.9% of Russians allegedly support the war, is trying to create an illusion of virtual unity regarding Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

At the same time, according to the activist, the announced figures do not correspond to reality.

"It is clear why these numbers are announced. In order to create a false impression among people that everyone supports the war, so that they also support the war, and this is what all the propaganda since February 24 is built on - to create this imaginary virtual unity. No unity. , in fact, we do not observe. And according to numerous already independent sociological data, we see that support for the war is not that it is not growing, it is falling all this time. Now, according to the latest research that Navalny's team did, for example, it is clear that those who are in favor of the continuation of hostilities are less than those who are in favor of peace negotiations and the end of the war. Their percentage fluctuates, if I am not mistaken, around 20%, I will not say exactly now. But no consensus on the war, according to sociological data, we don't see and haven't really seen for all these months,"- said an activist of the Russian youth democratic movement Vesna.

Martynenko emphasized that the mobilization in the Russian Federation has not been completed, but due to the protest mood, it will now be conducted more covertly, they will simply arrange raids on the streets, in homes, etc.

"We are now seeing that the protest of the relatives of the military - both mobilized and contract workers, and all other groups of the military are gradually uniting, especially actively, naturally, women, wives, mothers, sisters, etc., who demand the return of their relatives home. Active relatives of those held in illegal prisons and cellars in the "LDNR" in the occupied territories. So I think this will continue. Naturally, the more people are mobilized and sent to the front, the more active the resistance inside Russia will be, in particular, among relatives, since this process has already been launched," he believes.

Tymofiy Martynenko noted that there is currently no accurate information on how many Russians refuse to fight in Ukraine, because not all of them contact human rights defenders and do not make themselves known.

"But, of course, I am inclined to agree with the specialized human rights defenders who work directly with these people. Since if anyone has any data close to reality, it is the human rights defenders, so the bill probably runs into thousands," said the activist of the Russian youth democratic movement "Spring".

We will remind, the General Staff said that

Russian troops have already lost more military equipment and weapons in Ukraine

than their group had at the time of the full-scale invasion on February 24.
