A meeting of NATO's highest military body will be held in Brussels, at which they will discuss support for Ukraine in resisting Russian aggression.

As reported on the NATO website, the meetings of the Military Committee, which will be chaired by Admiral Rob Bauer, are scheduled for January 18-19, 2023.

On the first day, the participants of this meeting will be the heads of the general staffs of the armed forces of the Alliance countries and their colleagues from Finland and Sweden.

The session will be chaired by NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) General Christopher Cavoli, as well as NATO Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (SACT) General Philippe Lavigne.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will join the Military Committee at its first session on January 18 to present the latest policy goals and discuss the security challenges facing the Alliance.

The second session of the day, which will be chaired by General Lavigne, will be devoted to "the first observations of the ongoing war in Ukraine and the acceleration of the implementation of the NATO Concept on the end of hostilities and the Program for the Development of Military Operations."

On the same day, NATO's military potential and ability to protect the Alliance from current and future challenges will be discussed, and General Cavoli will provide updated information on NATO's implementation of the concept of deterrence and defense of the Euro-Atlantic region.

Another session will be devoted to NATO readiness and the provision of the armed forces.

It will focus on capacity development, military stockpiles and logistics.

Meetings with partners in the International Peacekeeping Force in Kosovo (KFOR) - Armenia, Austria, Finland, Ireland, Moldova, Sweden, Switzerland and Ukraine - are scheduled for January 19.

The Military Committee will also discuss NATO's non-combat capacity-building mission in Iraq with its partners - Sweden, Finland and Australia.

On the agenda is "assistance to Iraq in promoting greater stability, building its security and defense institutions, and eradicating terrorism."

At the last meeting, the Military Committee will discuss NATO's ongoing support for Ukraine.

We will remind, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg believes that Russia's war against Ukraine will be protracted, and peace will depend on the situation on the battlefield.
