On January 2, the third level of danger was announced in the Ivano-Frankivsk and Transcarpathian regions.

Avalanches are expected there.

This was reported to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

According to the data of the rescue service, a thaw is expected in the mountains of Prykarpattia and Transcarpathia, and therefore avalanches are likely there.

Because of this, the State Emergency Service announced the third level of danger.

"On January 2, in connection with the thaw, there is a significant avalanche danger in the highlands of Ivano-Frankivsk and the eastern part of Zakarpattia Oblast," the report says.

We will remind, forecaster Nataliya Didenko reported that until January 4 there will be warm weather in Ukraine.

However, cold weather is likely after that.

The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center predicts that severe frosts are possible in January.
